Maine Retreat

I created this piece during a personal retreat to Eggemoggin Textile Studio in Sargentville, Maine. Working with many different up-cycled and end of life wools I had on hand, I created this large floating piece, pictured above floating in Billings Cove in Sedgewick, Maine. As much of this wool had sustained moth damage, I felt-fused it to strengthen the material to create a stronger strand out of it. I love the natural fibers in nature, and much of my inspiration comes from playing with form to reflect and highlight the shapes of our earth.
